The second season of the Indian cooking-based show, the Laughter Chefs will premiere on Colors on January 25.

The show features celebrities cooking different dishes that are based on the criteria set by celebrity chef Harpal Singh Sokhi. The dishes are later judged by celebrity Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi alongside comedian Bharti Singh.

Chef Harpal believes that the show was a differentiator in the entertainment industry genre because it was genuine, unscripted, and gave freedom to the actors.

"I think we are all very happy that a show was created that acted as the differentiator and hence loved by people. This show has genuinity. This is what makes people happy. If a food is bad, then it is bad and good, if it is good. People ask us if the show is scripted. Maybe a small part is but the maximum part is unscripted. We do whatever we like. We are free people and we are free to do everything. It resulted in the success of the show."

Actress Kashmera Shah, who has been part of the show since season one with her husband Krushna Abhishek, also opened up on her thoughts and said she is happy with the success of Laughter Chefs.

"We are very excited with the second season. When a season goes well then it helps in the livelihood of many people. We get blessings. We became therapists for them. People love the show. They are laughing and it's such a good thing," she said.

Actress Ssujata Mehta, known for her memorable roles in Indian cinema, recently shared her heartfelt memories of Republic Day and a profound connection to the devastating Kutch earthquake of January 26, 2001. "Just like other children, I also have lovely memories of Republic Day," Ssujata reminisced. "We used to go to school, do the flag ceremony, sing patriotic songs, and celebrate the day as a special event." 

 However, beyond the joyous memories of the national holiday, one incident left an indelible mark on her heart. In December 2000, Ssujata was in Kutch, Gujarat, shooting for her film Dhaad. She described the region's beauty and the warmth of the people she encountered during her stay. "I never imagined such a disaster would take place," she said, referring to the catastrophic earthquake that struck Kutch on Republic Day, claiming thousands of lives and leaving countless others homeless.

 "After coming back to Mumbai, I was shooting when I heard the tragic news. I was totally shaken up," Ssujata recalled. Moved by the scale of the disaster and the suffering of the affected families, the actress felt compelled to return to Kutch to offer her support. "I went back and helped the homeless people in whatever way I could," she shared.

Actress Vidisha Srivastava, who plays Anita Bhabhi in Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli's show Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain, shared her excitement and gratitude as the show reached an impressive milestone of 2500 episodes. Actress Ashita Dhawan, who has been part of shows like Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Imlee, Krishna Mohini, Mera Balam Thanedaar, and is currently seen in the show Prem Leela on Dangal TV, says she has faced significant abuse and trolling after expressing her opinion on Rajat Dalal’s performance in Bigg Boss. In the past, she had stated that she wasn’t supporting him and has since been heavily trolled for her remarks.

Recounting the ordeal, she says, “I have been abused so much. I was asked in an interview about him, and I said that I used to like Rajat, but I don’t anymore. I also said that I don’t think he will win. I believe he is using violence a bit too much.”

She adds, “His followers started trolling me relentlessly. They abused me so much—you wouldn’t believe the things I was told. I was even told that I should die. I can’t even repeat those abuses. I never said anything wrong; I just gave my opinion. Later, during another press conference, I was asked about him again. This time, I gave an open challenge and said that if he wins, I would leave acting and become a producer. However, the last part of my quote was omitted when it was repeated.”

Anita and Angoori dress up beautifully and go to meet Tiwari and Vibhuti, but the two men ignore them because of some work, leaving the two women upset. The next day, Teeka and Tillu are having tea at a tea shop outside Kanpur Central when Tadka Kumari arrives. The two men tease her and offer her tea, which she accepts. As they are chatting, Manohar arrives and informs them that Tadka is a police inspector, one rank below Happu, and she is very dangerous. He tells them that she once dragged a minister’s son across the road.

Tadka then tells Teeka and Tillu that from today, they must set up their tea stall outside the police station because she likes their tea. She also orders them to spread the word that no man will dare to look at a woman inappropriately from now on, or there will be consequences. Meanwhile, to cheer up Anita and Angoori, Tiwari and Vibhuti suggest that each of them should do something nice for their wives. However, when their attempts fail, the two men end up teasing their wives instead, which leads to Tadka arresting them and putting them in jail.

Later, Tadka invites Tillu to her house at night. The next morning, Teeka returns and is too ashamed to say anything, leaving everyone worried. If we treat it well, we will reap positive outcomes. But if we continue to harm it, we will only face more catastrophes. Even animals, in some ways, live more harmoniously with nature than humans. It’s our man-made activities that are damaging the environment, and as a result, we are witnessing disasters across the globe. It’s high time for every country to take serious steps toward environmental protection,” he says.

He adds, “All nations need to come together and take collective actions. For example, countries could collectively work to reduce carbon emissions from factories by setting limits for each nation. Similarly, there should be a minimum percentage of forest cover that every country must maintain. Efforts should also be made to create green belts wherever possible. Actor Abhishek Malik, who is seen as Neel in Jamai No. 1, which is produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under their banner Studio LSD, says working out while shooting for a daily soap is a little challenging, and therefore he ensures that he eats right. He said, “I hardly get time to work out, so I measure what I eat and keep a count of my calories. I’m always on my toes, which keeps me busy and energized, and that naturally burns calories.” He stressed that as actors, they might need to do bare-body shots at any time, so it’s important to always work out and stay presentable. 

However, he added, “But beyond being an actor, I feel everyone should dedicate at least an hour to staying fit.” In fact, he is not a gym junkie and prefers home workouts. He added, “I have dumbbells and some machines, and I do pull-ups and push-ups. This setup works for me given my schedule.” He doesn’t believe in following a strict diet and instead practices intermittent fasting for 15 hours. He said, “After my last meal of the day, I let my body rest and start my day with something healthy like black coffee. It’s more about calculation and balance.”

Abhishek also mentioned that staying fit makes him feel more energetic and said, “Even eating less and staying active helps keep me in shape. I also rely on black coffee shots, one in the morning and one around 4 PM, to boost my energy levels.” He said that everyone should try to stay fit, even if they don’t go to the gym. Shah Rukh Khan’s home, Mannat, is a popular landmark in Mumbai, and his Kal Ho Naa Ho co-star Delnaaz Irani couldn’t be happier that she has her own Mannat now. The actress will soon be seen in the role of Harneet in Mannat, which will air on Colors from January 6 onwards.   Asked how she reacted to the name of the show, she said, “The first thing I was reminded of was Shah Rukh's house. I manifested my own Mannat.”   

Having worked in the industry for over three decades now, Delnaaz shared that she looks at a good script and a good role, but there are other factors too involved for her to do a show. “I have clearly and consciously told myself that at this stage of my life, I want to do work that makes me happy. Be it the people around me, or the location, the script, or the creative satisfaction, something that is worth stepping out of my house and out of my comfort zone,” she said.

“With the kind of life that we're leading, there are a thousand ways to be relevant today, especially with social media, and you can make your money there as well, sitting in the comfort zone of your home. And I've been very active with that. So I really don't feel the need to step out and waste three hours traveling unless the character is so strong and impactful,” she added.   She revealed that there are several shows that she has turned down because they were being shot at far-off places. But with Mannat, everything fell into place. She even calls herself the sugar and spice of the show.   

“Mannat is being shot at a nearby studio, which is not very far from home. And then for the character, they said we want an older version of Sweetu, we want you to be you. So I would call myself the sugar and spice of the show,“ she said.   

“Also, I really wanted to work with Mukta Dhond. I've been watching her shows in the past, and they are really good shows. So when I got a call for this, I wanted to make this work, and everything just smoothly fell in place,” Delnaaz ended.

The next day at the police station, Happu sees Manohar distributing sweets. Curious, Happu asks the reason. Manohar shares his joy, saying he had wanted a child for a long time but couldn’t conceive. When he consulted a doctor, he learned it wasn’t possible. However, a baba gave him a red bottle and asked him to drink it. After drinking it, his wife became very affectionate, and a month later, they discovered she was pregnant. Happu, impressed, decides to visit the baba himself.

Happu explains his problems to the baba, who gives him a green bottle and assures him of quick results. Upon returning to the station, Happu gets scolded by the Commissioner for an unresolved case. Just then, a minister calls and demotes the Commissioner, promoting Manohar to Happu’s position, Happu to the Commissioner’s position, and the Commissioner to Manohar’s position. Personally, I get headaches from overusing my phone or laptop.That’s why I make it a point to disconnect every now and then. For example, when I go on holiday, I reduce my phone usage a lot. My fans and work colleagues often get worried and ask me why I do this, but I feel it’s very important to take a break.I think everyone should take some time to disconnect from everything and just live in the moment. Spending one full day without your phone can be so refreshing. It helps you reconnect with yourself and the world around you.  

 Bhumika Gurung: I feel that technology has completely taken over every aspect of our lives today—whether it’s romance, sleep, or anything else. Later, Tiwari meets Anita at a restaurant, and she tells him about her friend who reads tarot cards. The friend warned her that there’s a negative person around her, causing her many problems. Tiwari, angry, tells Anita that the negative person must be none other than Vibhuti. Just then, the waiter arrives with the bill, and Anita is about to pay when she gets a call from Vibhuti. The waiter then announces that the prices have increased. Tiwari, confirming his suspicion, says to Anita, “I told you, Vibhuti is the negative one!”

Meanwhile, Angoori sits sadly in the lawn. Vibhuti notices and asks her why she’s upset. Angoori tells him about the problems, and Vibhuti tries to convince her that she’s not negative. He asks her to touch him, but as she does, a rickshaw comes and knocks him over. He falls into a pile of garbage. Angoori runs away, feeling guilty, but then Vibhuti finds a 100 rupee note and proudly says, “See, I told you, you are positive!”

Later, Anita is playing a tambola game, telling everyone that you don’t need luck or money to win. She believes she’ll hit a big jackpot one day. Inspired, Vibhuti plans to use the tambola game to remove Angoori’s negativity. The next morning, Vibhuti announces a city-wide tambola game.

Teeka and Tillu meet a snake charmer, who tells them about a lucky Nagmani (a magical jewel) worth ₹2000. They buy it, believing it will bring positivity. The game begins, and Vibhuti cheats to try to make Angoori win. But Angoori doesn’t win because she gave her ticket to a doctor, and the doctor wins instead. Vibhuti asks her why she gave her ticket away. Tiwari, seeing this, offers his ticket to Anita, but she doesn’t win either.

Tiwari and Vibhuti then come up with a plan to make both their wives win. Meanwhile, Teeka and Tillu, with their lucky Nagmani, remain positive, believing they will win. They have planned to use cheating to make the wives win. The game continues, and just as things seem suspenseful, the commissioner arrives and announces that he will host the show. Vibhuti tries to resist, but the commissioner takes over. In the end, both Angoori and Anita win the game and celebrate by dancing happily.  

Actress Aarti Bhagat, who plays the role of Manjiri in Jamai No. 1, says that the year has been full of ups and downs for her. She adds that she has learnt a lot along the way.

“This year has been a rollercoaster for me. It started with some challenges, but they turned out to be opportunities in disguise. I’ve learned so much—not just about the craft of acting but also about myself. God has been kind, placing me in situations that pushed me to trust myself more and grow stronger. Leaving Jammu and moving to Mumbai was a tough decision, but it was absolutely worth it,” she says.

She adds, “By the end of the year, I’ve seen things fall into place. Working on Jamai No. 1 as Manjiri and seeing my family so proud of me has made all the struggles worth it. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to close this chapter of the year.”

Ask her what has been her biggest learning, and she says, “My biggest learning is to trust myself and stay patient. It’s okay to make difficult decisions because, in the end, they lead to growth. In 2025, I plan to focus on learning new skills, managing my time better, and surrounding myself with positive, inspiring people.”

Talking about next year, she says that her goals are clear. “To keep growing, both personally and professionally. I want to take on more challenging roles, work with inspiring people, and continue making my family proud. The advice I’d give myself is to keep being patient and maintain a positive mindset, no matter what. It’s worked well for me so far. If I had to point out a mistake, it would be trusting people too easily at times. But even that taught me valuable lessons about whom to trust and whom not to.”

She adds, “Believe in yourself, and don’t be afraid to take risks. It’s not an easy journey, but it’s worth it. Be patient, stay focused, and trust that your hard work will pay off.”

Here’s what to expect in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan this week

The story begins with a thief stealing a precious diamond from a jeweler named Ghanshyamdas. The next day, Ghanshyam reports the theft to the police and informs them that the diamond is crucial for India as it was to represent the country at an international diamond exhibition. The police commissioner assures him that the diamond won’t leave Kanpur due to strict surveillance and checkpoints.

Meanwhile, the thief, unable to smuggle the diamond out of Kanpur, seeks advice from his boss. The boss suggests giving the diamond to Pascal, the owner of Pascal Bakery, who would hide it in a cake and smuggle it out of the city. However, by mistake, Pascal delivers the cake to Malaika instead.

When the boss realizes the error, he instructs the thief and his accomplice Rosy to ensure that the Christmas cake at Happu’s house is not cut. Rosy tries to break Happu’s marriage by taking compromising photos with him and sending them to his house, but the photos don’t reach Rajesh.

In the end, the thief disguises himself as Santa Claus and crashes the Christmas party. He tries to scare everyone by pulling out a gun, knives, and other weapons from his bag, but the family mistakes them for toys and takes them away. Soon after, the boss arrives and confesses everything. Malaika steps in, beats up the criminals, and ensures the diamond is returned to its rightful place. The story concludes with the family celebrating Christmas together.

Mumbai is not as cold as it used to get during this time, says actress Rinku Ghosh who was last seen in Anokhaa Bandhan. She adds that while Mumbai was never chilly, there was a definite nip in the air earlier.

“Mumbai used to have moderate winters before, but now it feels more like a cooler summer. The winters we grew up with—those cool morning breezes and wrapping myself in a thin shawl at home—are almost gone. It’s sad how the weather doesn’t give that same cozy feeling anymore. Winters had a charm that added freshness to life, but now it just feels like a slight relief from the heat,” she says.

This year, Mumbai experienced its warmest winter in the last 16 years, with temperatures reaching 37.3°C. Talking about the same, she says, “I think this is the price humans have to pay for the sake of development and urbanization. The rising temperatures are a sign of how much damage we’ve done to the environment. Pollution, deforestation, and global warming are all to blame. It’s a wake-up call for all of us to act more responsibly before we lose the beauty of every season.”

Ask her what she misses about winters, and she says, “I miss sardi ki dhoop—that warm winter sunshine—while sipping a hot cup of adrak chai. Those moments felt so calm and comforting, like a pause from the chaos of everyday life. Winters had their own way of slowing things down and giving us small joys that now seem to have disappeared.”

As for clothes, she says layering is the way to go. “For Mumbai winters, just jeans and a thick full-sleeve T-shirt or jacket are enough. It’s simple, comfortable, and works well for the city’s weather. Heavy layering isn’t needed here, but even this little adjustment makes you feel like you’re embracing the winter season,” she says.

Actor Srikant Dwivedi, who recently played the lead in the show Lakshmi Narayan and is currently playing the role of Lord Vishnu in its spin-off Shiv Shakti-Tap Tyag Tandav, says that he loves being part of the team. He adds that there is a lot of support and guidance on set.

“There is amazing support from the creative team. They are always there to help with any questions you have or any reasoning you need for a scene. They guide you on how a line should be pronounced and how to improve any weaknesses in your performance. The support is really helpful. At the same time, reading has also helped me a lot. By reading more, I discovered many things, especially about playing the role of Lord Narayan. I understood why Narayan is called the preserver of the universe. By going back to the basics, I started to understand how Narayan might have been. So, with the constant support from the creative team and the production, you naturally evolve as an actor. When you have such a wonderful team to work with, it truly helps you grow,” he says.

Talking about some memorable moments of the show, he says, “One of the most memorable moments in Shiv Shakti was a scene where Lord Narayan goes to bury his Sudarshan Chakra in the ground. This was significant because, with the same Sudarshan Chakra, he had cut Goddess Sati’s body into 51 pieces. Mahadev was not happy with this, and eventually, Narayan decided to bury the Sudarshan Chakra in the ground. It was a very emotional moment, considering everything that had happened. The fact that the Sudarshan Chakra was responsible for that event made it even more significant. That was my most memorable moment.”

He adds, “What I enjoy most about being a part of the show is the amazing cast. Everyone is good at what they do, and at the same time, it feels like a family. I love working with them and seeing their faces every morning. The energy on set is incredible. At the same time, the direction team and the production team are also amazing at their work. There’s always a vibrant, happy atmosphere, and we all work together to create something epic and legendary. That’s the most memorable and enjoyable part of being on this show.”

Asked how he balances the demands of a long-running show with his personal life, he says, “Balancing the demands of such a long-running show with my personal life is manageable. I try to ensure that my workday is organized so that there is a good balance, and we wrap up on time. It’s not like the shifts extend to seven days a week. There are no long, extended shifts, and I do get non-working days. Even if I need to travel for something else, I make sure to inform everyone in advance, so it’s easy to manage. Right now, my schedule allows me to keep a good balance, and I don’t feel overwhelmed.”

Actor Aadesh Chaudhary, who is part of the web series Chitta Ve and has been part of Sasural Simar Ka, Laal Ishq, Diya Aur Baati Hum, Desh Ki Beti Nandini, Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, Doli Armaano Ki, among others, says that happiness and joy hold great importance for him. However, he adds that the feeling of being content in life cannot be compared to anything else.

“Happiness and contentment are not the same for me. Happiness is a feeling of joy and elation, while contentment is a state of being satisfied and at peace with one's life,” he says. Ask him what makes him the happiest, and he says, “Spending time with loved ones, pursuing my passion for acting, and achieving my goals make me the most happy.”

He adds, “I cheer my mood on a gloomy day by listening to music, watching a funny movie, or going for a workout. Sometimes, I also call a friend or family member to talk and lift my spirits. My ultimate idea of happiness and peace is living a life that is true to myself, pursuing my passions, and being surrounded by loving relationships. It's about finding a sense of purpose and fulfilment, and being at peace with myself and the world around me.”

Talking about ways to be content, he says, “I make it a point to reflect on the things I'm grateful for each day, no matter how small they may seem. Doing what I love is also important to me, whether it's acting or other hobbies. This gives me a sense of purpose and happiness. I prioritise self-care by getting enough sleep, eating well, and exercising regularly. This helps me maintain a positive mood and energy levels.”

Ask him how he foresees next year, and he says, “In 2025, I plan to take on new acting challenges and explore different genres and roles. I also want to learn new skills, such as playing a musical instrument, to broaden my creative horizons.”

He adds, “I'm interested in learning more about mindfulness and meditation to improve my mental well-being and focus.”

Actor Abhishek Malik, who plays the role of Neel Paranjape in the show Jamai No. 1, says that the show is one-of-a-kind of TV. He adds that it gives a fresh perspective on the age-old ‘saas-damaad’ drama. 

“It’s a male-centric show, which is rare on TV. Most shows revolve around women, but Jamai No. 1 brings a fresh perspective with its focus on the saas-damaad drama. Neel, my character, is genuine, spiritual, and values his roots, but he’s also a jugadu who knows how to set things right. This unique dynamic with his mother-in-law sets the show apart,” he says.

The show is very different from his other work, says the actor. “Male-centric shows are every actor's dream since TV is mostly dominated by saas-bahu dramas. Being the face of the show and taking a stand as the lead was exciting for me. I waited for the show to start as it was pushed a bit and a lot of mock shoots were done. The unique concept really drew me in.”

He adds, “Most TV shows are driven by women, but Jamai No. 1 offers a fresh take with a saas-damaad dynamic. Neel is a relatable character who knows his values but is also clever and resourceful. The way he interacts with his mother-in-law and sets her right makes this show stand out from the usual dramas.”

Ask him what will the audience connect with the most on the show, and he says, “I think the audience will connect with Neel’s rootedness and values. His father is a pandit, and he stays true to his culture and beliefs while tackling tricky situations. Neel is not a typical hero, but the circumstances will make him a hero as he will stand for what’s right. People will love his journey.”

As for his connection with his character, he adds, “I relate to Neel a lot. Like him, I am also a Shiv bhakt and believe in standing up for what’s right. I respect my family deeply, just like Neel does. It feels like I’m playing a version of myself on screen.”

Agastaya Jain, the writer, creator, and creative producer of the TV show Bas Itna Sa Khwaab shares his thoughts on his new show. which stars talented Rajshree Thakur and Yogendra Vikram Singh. The show recently came on air and the first few episodes got some good positive feedback. Talking more about his show the creator Agastaya Jain says,”One of the best things I heard is - it’s not a typical hero heroine show. It’s actually what we call a family show where each character is nuanced and has a story to tell. Characters are what people are relating to and that makes me happy. Rest all depends on the reviews of the show; fingers crossed!” When asked about the positive title of the show Bas Itna Sa Khwaab, Agastaya says,”It’s a story of taking that first step towards your dream and potential because the first step is the most difficult one. After that you keep following your path. To me the focus has always been to create content which is timeless.” We all need support in our life specially when you are choosing a career which is challenging and always needs validation from audiences. 

So what kind of support did Agastaya get in his career? He says,”Initially, except my wife then girlfriend , no one. But eventually Everyone. It takes time for people to believe in someone’s decision now I feel I am the lucky one.” Rajshree Thakur who is known for her versatility is back with this show and Agastaya feels it was the best decision to cast her. “She is proving our decision right with every episode, and there is a lot to come. She has already proved her ability and with this show also she will again prove that good talent is what we need in today’s time.” So as a creator how much pressure do you have for the ratings of your show? Agastaya admits the pressure is there. He says,”For any successful show audience attention and love matters the most. There will always be pressure to prove why your show is watchable. My main job is to make the characters relatable and I want my viewers to stay connected with the show. The more attention my characters will get, I know they will be curious to know more about it. A successful show will always have the best of the story with properly executed script.” Agastaya has previously worked on projects like Meri Durga, Tu Chal Pudhe, Radha Krishna, and Qayamat Ki Raat.

Vikash also discussed the team’s efforts to improve the show's viewership. "As far as the TRP is concerned, we are striving to take it as high as possible. Currently, it’s in the range of 2-3, which is quite low, but we are aiming to push it above 5, even beyond 10, and hopefully, we will achieve that. Regarding the show, we are putting in our best efforts to take it forward," he explained.

Having worked in theater for over a decade, Vikash brings significant experience to his screen roles. "I have been associated with theater for a very long time, approximately 10 to 12 years. I’ve also done a few commercial plays with Shekhar Suman, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, and the esteemed Arif Zakaria, Sonali Kulkarni, and Satish Kaushik," he noted. His previous projects include Kaagaz 1, directed by the late Satish Kaushik, and Kaagaz 2, directed by V.K. Prakash.

It’s beyond my dreams,” she shared, her excitement evident. The actress credited her achievement to the unwavering support of her family, friends, colleagues, and fans. “This is all because of the positivity I’ve received from people on my set, my family, neighbors, and friends. They’ve all believed in me and prayed for my success,” she said. Actor Ishaan Singh Manhaas, who is currently part of the show Dil Ko Tumse Pyaar Hua, is known for his dedication to fitness and a balanced lifestyle. The actor opens up about how he maintains his impressive physique despite the demanding schedules of an actor's life. For Ishaan, fitness is not just a routine; it's a way of life. “I make sure to hit the gym whenever I find the time. Additionally, I keep my diet in check. If my schedule doesn’t allow me to go to the gym, I do push-ups and other free-weight exercises in my room during shoots,” he shares. 

Despite his packed schedule, Ishaan prioritizes workouts to ensure he stays in top shape. While he enjoys the flexibility of home or on-the-go exercises, Ishaan admits his preference for the gym. “I am more of a gym person, as I enjoy lifting heavy weights, which isn’t feasible with home workouts. If I finish work early, I make it a point to go to the gym. However, when I’m traveling or extremely busy, I rely on free-weight exercises to at least maintain my muscles.” To complement his workout regimen, Ishaan follows a disciplined diet, steering clear of refined flour, fried foods, and sugary treats on most days. “Yes, I follow a strict diet most of the time, but occasionally, I allow myself to eat whatever I like. On most days, I avoid refined flour, fried items, oily foods, and anything with excessive sugar. However, once or twice a week, I indulge in treats like pizza, burgers, chocolates, or cakes,” he reveals. 

For Ishaan fitness is more than just aesthetics; it's about overall well-being. “Fitness plays a significant role in boosting my energy levels and improving my health. Working out increases stamina, enhances strength, and keeps the heart healthy. A fit body leads to a fit mind, which also enhances our personality,” he emphasizes. The pressure to look fit in the entertainment industry can be intense, but Ishaan takes it in stride. “Our industry is highly competitive, and everyone aims to look their best. There’s nothing wrong with that because our job is about impressing the audience. Staying fit and looking good are just as important as delivering a great performance,” he explains. 

When asked about what keeps him motivated, he cites the need to look his best on screen. “As an actor, I need to look good and stay fit on screen, which is my biggest motivation. I push myself to follow a strict diet and make time for the gym whenever possible. Proper sleep is also essential for staying fit and energized.” 

Ishaan recommends two simple yet effective fitness tips: follow a balanced diet by avoiding junk food, especially items made with refined flour (maida), fried or oily foods, and those with high sugar content; and ensure you get 7-8 hours of sleep every night for proper rest and recovery.

Everyone will see bits of their own families or relationships in it,” “I’ve usually played characters that were more intense or serious. Playing a Marathi girl is actually new and interesting for me. This character, on the other hand, is lighthearted, fun, and relatable. It’s a refreshing change for me, and I’m loving every bit of it,” she added. Aarti is enjoying her time on the set of the show and shared that the experience so far has been amazing. 

Talking about the cast and crew, she said, “Everyone is so talented and supportive. The atmosphere on set is so positive and collaborative—it really feels like a family. I’ve learned a lot from my co-stars, and we have so much fun in between shots.” The name of the show is quite interesting. When asked what makes a jamai no. 1, Aarti said, “A jamai no. 1 has to be someone who wins everyone’s hearts, whether it’s with their charm, wit, or by just being there for the family. “I received the Best Actor - Comedy (Popular) award at the Indian Television Academy (ITA) Awards. Awards play a very important role in my career. While all her projects are important to her, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai happens to be the most special. She says that everything from the dialogue to the characters, everything has worked well.

“Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai is my favourite serial. Every character in it is humorous, and there’s a family-oriented atmosphere. One character is innocent, while another is smart. Angoori’s dialogues have become iconic, they are like catchphrases now,” she says.

Ask her what kind of reactions people give after watching her shows, and she says, “One hospital recommends our serial to every patient. One day, Joy Mukherjeeji’s wife came to my house with a plate, decorated with a Ganesh idol and lamps. I didn’t even recognise her at first. She told me, "I was ill in the hospital, and the doctors were giving me injections, which caused blisters in my mouth. I didn’t even want to take the medicine. Seeing my condition, the doctor turned on the TV and started our serial, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. He told me to watch this serial. I watched it for the entire time I was in the hospital, day and night. Some people even told me that in their offices, this serial is playing too. You might not believe this, but the actors of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai send messages to cancer patients, telling them to get better soon so that they can come to visit us on set.”

She says that fans like to come and visit them on the set too. “Many people have come to visit us on the set. Unlike other shows, we don’t charge anyone for visiting. We invite everyone during lunchtime and offer them lunch with the cast. After visiting the set, people often tell us that they bring happiness to everyone’s faces. People believe that watching our serial brings them peace, relieves their stress, and makes them happy. Our actors send personalized messages to sick people, telling them to get well soon and then come visit us on the set,” she says.

The producer also adds that content that makes people happy is their priority. “Our goal is to make people laugh. All of our characters are regular people. Angoori Bhabi’s jewellery consists of traditional Indian earrings, while Gori Ma’am’s jewellery is Western. We also dressed Heeba Nawab (in JiJa Ji Chhat Pe Hai) in a salwar kameez with a signature dupatta.”

She adds, “In our serial Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai or even in Rajan Shahi's Anupama, women are portrayed positively. Even ordinary women like Angoori Bhabi and Anupama are encouraged by the men in their lives to start something on their own. Bhabi Ji always tries to do different things, whether it’s dancing or acting, and she is always supported in her endeavours. Himani Shivpuri Ji has been working with us for quite a while. She worked with us on Hum Aapke Hain Woh. Himani Ji is very cute, both in the way she talks and when she gets angry.”

Currently seen as Flower in Gudiya Rani, Ekta Tiwari brings a grounded authenticity to her role, where her character navigates the intricacies of family and tradition. As Flower, she resonates with audiences by embodying a blend of values that reflect a rooted, yet independent, outlook on life.

Ekta values a more personal approach to weddings, emphasizing that the essence of marriage lies beyond the extravaganza. “Marriage is a lifelong journey, not just a single-day event,” she reflects. For Ekta, it’s about connection and commitment, not the external display. She admires weddings that stay intimate, like those of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, where simplicity and elegance were prioritized, or Sachin Tendulkar and Shah Rukh Khan’s low-key ceremonies that kept the focus on family rather than spectacle.

“Good content always has repeat value, and that’s a key to success in our industry. Iconic films like Sholay and Mughal-e-Azam are examples of movies that people love to watch multiple times. For true cinema lovers, watching a great film more than once is a delightful experience. However, I feel that in our country, the number of cinema lovers and movie buffs has decreased, which is a worrying trend I’ve noticed,” he says.

He adds, “Another issue is the increasing scale of films. Nowadays, films are made with budgets of hundreds of crores, especially those featuring stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, or Prabhas. These are huge, big-budget extravaganzas. For instance, a film like Stree 2 broke the box office record of a big-budget movie like Jawan. While Stree 2 performed extremely well at the box office, it’s concerning that there is so much focus on big-budget films alone. In filmmaking, whether it’s big-budget or small-budget, the key lies in making a good film. A well-crafted story, excellent direction, strong performances, and timely release combined with good marketing can make any film successful in theatres.”

Verma stresses that content needs to be king. “It seems that the industry is overly focused on grand, big-budget productions, forgetting that smaller, well-made films, if properly marketed, can also do great business, especially in tier 1 and tier 2 cities. In these cities, audiences still prefer a well-made, well-marketed film in theatres. That’s why, when a big-budget film releases, it often dominates the box office. But it’s equally important to give well-made smaller films their due, as they can also perform well with the right release strategy.”

He adds, “Our country, being a young nation, has a vast audience that connects with cinema on a deep level. If a film resonates with the audience, especially the younger generation, it will definitely do well, regardless of the budget. As for the future, I believe well-made films will always be successful, regardless of changing trends. While the rise of OTT platforms and home entertainment offers many options, theatres will continue to thrive as long as good content is made. Both mediums—OTT and theatres—have their own space, and high-quality films will continue to succeed in both.”

Actor Srikant Dwivedi, who recently led the show Lakshmi Narayan and currently plays the role of Lord Vishnu in the mythological show Shiv Shakti-Tap Tyag Tandav, shares his journey in the showbiz industry. 

Discussing his career, Dwivedi says, “I was previously working in the hospitality industry in Delhi and had no plans of entering the entertainment industry or pursuing acting. It just happened unexpectedly. In 2017, I participated in Mr. India, won the competition, and went on to represent India on a global stage. That was the first time I was introduced to the modeling and entertainment industry. I found the modeling world quite fascinating and enjoyed it, but I wanted to achieve something bigger. I knew modeling has a relatively short career span for most people. That realization made me explore other avenues, and I began watching plays in Delhi, especially in Mandi House. That’s when I felt I should venture into acting as well.” After that, Srikant took a bold decision, left his job, and moved to Mumbai. 

He adds, “I had never been to Mumbai before and had no idea what the city was like. But I told myself, life is short, and if you don’t take risks, staying in the same place forever would be the biggest risk of all. I didn’t want to live with regrets or keep wondering, ‘What if?’ So, I decided to take the plunge and moved to Mumbai to pursue acting. The first thing I did when I came to Mumbai was to join a theater group. I trained under the mentorship of Saurabh Sachdeva, where I began understanding the nuances of acting and the dedication it requires. I got deeply interested in the craft and started auditioning for roles. I gave many auditions, faced a lot of rejections, but kept going. Finally, my first break in television came with a show called Papa By Chance, where I did a cameo role. That was the beginning of my journey in the TV industry.” 

Currently, Srikant is essaying the lead role in Lakshmi Narayan, a mythology-based show. Sharing more about his role and experience, he says, “I played the lead role in Lakshmi Narayan, which was my first show as a lead. I initially started as a parallel lead in Shiv Shakti, and my performance was appreciated so much by the channel and production house that they decided to create a spin-off, introducing a new show titled Lakshmi Narayan. In the show, I portrayed the role of Lord Narayan, or Vishnu, who is the epitome of patience and wisdom. Vishnu is known for taking different avatars whenever the situation demands it. Each avatar reflects a different aspect of his personality. For instance, some avatars, like the calm and composed ones, embody peace, while others, like Narasimha or Varaha, represent anger or seriousness when necessary.” 

Srikant also shares his learnings from his character. “Through this role, I learned that Lord Vishnu, with his various forms, has always guided and maintained balance in the universe. This taught me that as humans, we are not the same in every situation. Depending on circumstances, we adapt and react with different mindsets and approaches. Playing Lord Vishnu helped me understand the importance of being virtuous, wise, and always walking on the path of righteousness. This has been one of the most valuable lessons I learned while portraying this role. Even now, as I continue playing the role of Narayan in Shiv Shakti, I strive to imbibe these teachings in real life. It has truly been an enlightening experience for me.” Why did you take up this role? “The reason I took up this role was deeply personal. Since childhood, I have grown up listening to devotional songs, most of which were dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Whether it was Om Jai Jagdish Hare or songs about Lord Vishnu’s various avatars, these devotional tunes have always been a part of my life. Singing and humming these songs created a connection with the divine, and I always felt drawn to this spiritual realm. I wanted to deeply understand this connection and explore the essence of Lord Vishnu’s character. In today’s fast-paced life, it’s difficult to pause and truly learn about Indian mythology, history, and the gods.” 

Interestingly, Srikant has a unique karmic relationship with his show. He says, “My name itself has a connection to Lord Vishnu. Sri Kant or Sri Lakshmi Kant refers to the husband of Goddess Lakshmi, who is none other than Narayan or Vishnu. It felt as if this role was destined for me, and I was meant to portray Lord Vishnu.”

At the police station, Happu meets a man from the Met department who comes to file a complaint against his boss. During their conversation, Happu learns a piece of secret information—Kanpur is about to experience an extreme cold wave. Excited by the idea, Happu decides to start a winterwear business. He and Beni approach two moneylenders, Gappu and Chappu, for a loan of 50 lakh rupees, promising to return it with interest within five days. They even sign the paperwork for the loan.

However, their plan backfires when the information turns out to be wrong. Instead of a cold wave, a heatwave hits Kanpur, leaving Happu and Beni’s business in shambles. This role has allowed me to explore a different facet of my acting, and I’m thrilled to receive so much appreciation for my performance. It’s truly gratifying,” he said.

People from around the world come for weddings and shoots because of its beautiful culture,” she said. “The entire ambiance is amazing. When we talk about royalty, it’s Rajasthan. You can explore the palaces and experience destination weddings here. Many production houses also have studios in the city,” she added. 

She expressed her fondness for the people of Jaipur and the lifestyle there. “Living in a metropolitan city now, I don’t even know my neighbors, and life moves fast. But Jaipur is different—everyone knows each other. You meet people in every lane. I always make it a point to visit Nahargarh. It’s beautiful—you can see the whole city, and during Makar Sankranti, the sight of kites and lanterns is breathtaking. It’s a visual treat for me,” she said. 

“Staying in Jaipur also gives you a royal feeling because of its heritage and history. From the food to the activities, it’s a city that’s cultured yet modern. There’s always something happening here,” she concluded.

I feel truly blessed to have such wonderful fans all around the world. I remember there was this sweet teenage girl from Delhi and another fan from Scotland. She used to reach out through Instagram, messaging my team to get in touch with me. She was so head-over heels about my work! I’m lucky to have a global fan following, and I’m incredibly grateful for it. I haven’t had any extreme or “crazy” fan encounters—most have been incredibly sweet, sending thoughtful gifts, blessings, and heartfelt messages. Oh, the craziest fan stories—I have so many! Almost everyone who meets me says, “I had a crush on you when I was younger,” and sometimes they look like uncles! But it’s all in good spirit, and the selfie trend definitely makes things interesting.One time, a fan came up to me and wanted to recreate a scene I had completely forgotten about! He was such a big fan that he even acted it out with enthusiasm. Then there was this woman who approached me, saying, “My husband is a huge fan of yours; please take a photo with us!” She even directed me, saying, “Stand right next to him; put your hand on his shoulder—don’t worry, I won’t mind!” It was amusing how precise her instructions were!

Deekshha Sonalkar Tham:

A couple of years ago I was shooting for my show Hasmukh in Lucknow at the airport. Although a section of the airport was cleared for the actors to walk to and from the vanity, there was a crowd that hovered there. After we packed up, I was being escorted by security back to the vanity to avoid the crowd, but somehow people still managed to squeeze their way in to get selfies. There was so much chaos that my make-up artist, who was walking with me, had to pull a luggage trolley and asked me to get on it, and she pushed through the crowd straight to the vanity. It was a scary experience to have so many people gather, but it was also fun to be pushed on the trolley. There has always been a kind of craze when it comes to seeing celebrities. In the earlier days, we had autograph books. Today we have phones, and although social media has bridged the gap between celebrities and fans in certain ways, the joy of seeing the person you see on screen in reality is different. I’ve always followed my uncle’s example (he’s a famous singer/music director) when it came to dealing with fans. He obliges most of the time, but if the circumstance isn’t right, he politely declines, offering them a reason to help them understand they’re crossing the line.

In a twist of fate, the name labels for Tiwari and Vibhuti fall and get mixed up. This results in Tiwari getting “Anita” tattooed on his chest, and Vibhuti getting “Angoori” on his. This holiday has reminded me of the importance of stepping back from technology and the positive impact it can have on my mental well-being and personal relationships. It’s a valuable lesson that I hope to carry forward even after my vacation ends,” she says.

However, in everyday life, it’s hard to avoid using mobile phones, as they have essentially become our offices, she explains, adding, “It’s true that mobile phones have become indispensable in our professional lives. They offer convenience and connectivity that our parents’ generation didn’t have. However, I believe this constant connectivity can lead to burnout and a blurring of boundaries between work and personal life. While mobile phones can enhance productivity, it’s essential to set limits and take breaks to maintain our mental health and personal relationships.”

She continues, “Our mobile browsing habits often distract us from fully experiencing life as it unfolds around us. Instead of engaging with the people or activities we’re a part of, we sometimes find ourselves glued to our screens, missing out on valuable moments. Practicing mindfulness and being more intentional about when and how we use our devices can help us reconnect with the present and appreciate the world around us.”

Asked what life would be like if phones weren’t allowed during the day, she says, “I envision a more serene and focused life. Without the distractions of notifications and endless scrolling, my evenings could be spent enjoying quality time with family or pursuing hobbies that I love. Mornings might feel more peaceful, allowing for a calm start to the day without the immediate pull of checking emails or social media. Overall, it could lead to a healthier balance and a greater sense of well-being.”

She says she would love to step away from social media whenever possible. “If I had to choose one app to remove, it would likely be a social media app. While they can keep us connected, they often also create unrealistic comparisons and pressure to present a perfect life. Removing it would help reduce the noise and distractions, allowing me to focus on more meaningful connections and experiences. I believe it would foster a more positive mindset and reduce feelings of anxiety and inadequacy,” she says.

It comes as a relief that actor Vivian Dsena seems to have seen through his so-called friend, actor Karanveer Mehra. In yesterday’s episode, we saw him joking and spending time with actor Avinash Mishra and his friends Eisha and Alice. The four of them were in the bathroom when Avinash expressed concern about it being dirty. 

Next, we saw Vivian rush to check the stall! He came out and said he remembered using the bathroom but also made sure to clean it. He joked that he couldn’t blame anyone else since he didn’t know if anyone had used it after him. The three of them laughed, agreeing not to tell anyone else about what happened! Later, we saw Vivian drying clothes with Avinash and joking about how the most “dangerous players” were busy drying clothes while everyone else was inside. We also saw Vivian washing dishes at night while Avinash kept him entertained. Meanwhile, Vivian seems to have become a Bigg Boss favorite. When Bigg Boss asked him to name someone responsible for keeping the house dirty, Vivian named Chahat.

With Diwali approaching, everyone in Happu’s family starts asking him for expensive gifts. Hearing the prices of the gifts, Happu becomes worried about how he will afford them. On his way to the police station, he meets Beni, who shares his own money problems and mentions that he might even resort to gambling. Happu advises Beni against it, explaining that gambling is a bad habit, and continues to the station.

At the police station, Happu encounters a gambler and his wife. The wife begs Happu to help her husband quit gambling. Happu brings the gambler in for questioning, but instead, the gambler ends up giving Happu some gambling tips, sparking Happu’s interest in the game. Happu convinces Beni to join him, and they both head to a gambling den. There, a gambler named GG lets Happu win a few rounds, hoping to get him hooked. But soon after, Beni loses all his money.

When Bimlesh finds out, she tells Rajesh, and the entire family scolds Happu. However, Happu convinces them that it was just a small gamble, and he even won money to buy everyone expensive gifts. He promises to get them all their desired presents.

Happu then takes Beni back to the gambling den, where GG cheats and wins all their money. This leads to a loud argument between Happu and Beni outside their house, and the family finds out that they have lost all their money in gambling. Amma scolds Happu severely and lectures him about his actions.

The next day, Malaika comes up with a plan to get their money back. She and Happu disguise themselves as an African king and queen and visit the gambling den. Using some tricks of their own, they manage to outsmart GG, win back all the money, and get him arrested. In the end, the whole family celebrates Diwali together.
