Actress Meera Chopra, known for her roles in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films, is gearing up for a different kind of performance in the upcoming movie "Safed." In this film, exploring the world of an ostracized widow and eunuch seeking solace in each other, Chopra ditches the makeup and takes on a role unlike any other.
"Safed" presents a unique challenge for Chopra, who acknowledges the difficulty of appearing on camera without the usual beauty enhancements. "It's challenging for any actress to face the camera sans makeup," she admits. "Without hair styling and makeup, we become very conscious about our looks."
However, Chopra embraced the rawness of this experience. "When I started shooting, I tried to put a base on my face, but the director, Sandeep, sent me back to wash it off," she recalls. "It was actually refreshing. I just woke up, washed my face, and went straight to the set. It made playing Kaali much easier and more natural."
This stripped-down approach allowed Chopra to fully immerse herself in the character, a testament to her dedication to the craft. The film promises a powerful portrayal of social outcasts finding solace in unexpected places.
Beyond "Safed," Chopra also speaks about her cousin, Mannara Chopra, currently participating in the reality show Bigg Boss. Although not a regular viewer, Chopra expresses her support for Mannara and hopes she emerges victorious.
"Safed," featuring Meera Chopra, Abhay Verma, and Barkha Bisht, premieres on ZEE5 on December 29th. This film promises a raw and impactful performance from Chopra, showcasing her commitment to portraying complex characters without the glossy veneer of convention.
