Actress Megha Sharma, last seen on television in Pandya Store, shares her experience of featuring in the music video Dil E Naadaan. The song is sung by the talented Mohammad Vakil. She says, “The ghazal I worked on with Sajid Sir is essentially a tribute to his late brother, Wajid Khan, who is no longer with us. I learned a lot during the shooting process because Sajid Sir is highly experienced in the music industry, and it was a privilege to work with him. The ghazal has just been released, and I’m looking forward to more feedback. So far, I’ve received positive responses from people. This project feels special because it’s an iconic one.”
She also adds, “I’ve grown up listening to ghazals. My mom used to play them at home when I was very young. Even back then, I loved their charm and essence. There’s something about ghazals that takes you to a different era, and I absolutely love that. This is my first music video, and I’m happy to be part of it. A first is always special.”
Megha also shares how the dynamic duo Sajid-Wajid left a special impression on the ghazal. “Sajid Sir has done a fantastic job of presenting the ghazal in a modern way, making it appealing to today’s audience while preserving its essence. I believe it has been handled exceptionally well, and I’m sure listeners will love it, especially with Mohammad Vakil’s melodious voice.
Some of my favorite ghazals are by legends like Jagjit Singh, whose work we grew up listening to, and of course, Mohammad Vakil. They have left a lasting impact, and it’s an honor to contribute to this beautiful genre in my own way. I feel there should be more music videos dedicated to ghazals so that the youth can connect with this genre.”
