Sneha Wagh's recent departure from her television role as Protima opened a window of opportunity for a much-needed spiritual journey. While her father's passing had previously kept her mother from traveling, Sneha, along with her sister and aunt, planned a trip to rejuvenate her mother's spirit.
Despite initial hesitations due to filming commitments and uncertainties about her break schedule, the stars aligned perfectly for Sneha to join the family adventure.
Gujarat's temples, particularly those in Dwarka, became the focus of their pilgrimage. Dwarka, nestled near Pakistan at the tip of India, offered a surprisingly pleasant respite from its usual scorching climate. The small island of Bet Dwarka, surrounded by the serene sea, and the historical significance of Dwarka as one of the Char Dhams (four pilgrimage sites) added layers of spiritual and cultural richness to their journey.
Sneha shared, "We traced the life cycle of Lord Krishna, encountering stories woven into the fabric of our mythology. Somnath and Nageshwar Jyotirling temples nearby completed the spiritual tapestry."
The trip wasn't just about introspection; it was also about indulging in local flavors. Sneha and her family savored traditional Gujarati breakfasts of fafda-jalebi and other delectable dishes. Shopping sprees in local markets yielded vibrant dupattas, intricately embroidered Bandhani and mirror-work sarees, and other treasures that captured the essence of Gujarat.
"While I did buy a few things," Sneha chuckled, "my mom, sister, and aunt went on a full-blown shopping spree! I couldn't help but smile watching their excitement as they embraced the vibrant culture."
Sneha Wagh's spiritual journey with her family serves as a reminder of the importance of nurturing oneself and one's loved ones, finding solace in shared experiences, and discovering beauty in both history and tradition.
